1. Sponsor
The contest is sponsored by Sunset Air Conditioning & Heating, Pensacola, Florida (“Sponsor”). Questions may be sent to sunsetairandservices@gmail.com.
2. Eligibility — locals only
Open to legal residents who are at least 18 years old and live in Pensacola or a nearby Gulf Coast community within Sunset Air Conditioning & Heating' normal service area. Final local eligibility is based on the home address or vessel service location supplied before the prize is awarded. Sponsor, people involved in judging or administration, and their immediate households are not eligible.
3. Monthly entry periods
Each monthly contest begins at 12:00 a.m. Central Time on the first calendar day of the month and ends at 11:59 p.m. Central Time on the final calendar day of that month. Entries received after a monthly deadline move to the next eligible period only if the Sponsor confirms that treatment; otherwise they are not considered.
4. How to enter
Use the upload form on the Sunset of the Month page. Submit one original sunset photograph, your name, a valid email address, and the location where the photograph was taken. Limit one entry per person and per email address per month. No purchase, payment, or service appointment is required.
5. Photo requirements
- The entrant must have personally taken and own the submitted photo.
- The photo must show a sunset photographed in Pensacola or the surrounding Gulf Coast area.
- The entry may not contain another party's logo, copyrighted artwork, private information, unlawful material, dangerous conduct, or content that is obscene, hateful, or misleading.
- If an identifiable person is a meaningful subject of the photo, the entrant must have permission to submit and publish that person's likeness.
- Minor color, crop, exposure, and clarity adjustments are allowed. Fully AI-generated images, copied images, and deceptive composites are not eligible.
6. Judging and winner selection
This is a judged contest. Eligible entries will be evaluated by the Sponsor or designated judges using the following criteria: composition and visual impact (30%), originality (30%), Gulf Coast sense of place (25%), and light/color (15%). The highest-scoring entry is the prospective monthly winner. In a tie, the higher originality score controls; if still tied, the Sponsor will compare overall visual impact. Judging decisions are final, subject to these rules.
7. Prize
One monthly winner chooses either (a) one standard preventive maintenance visit for one eligible residential or marine A/C system, with a maximum value of $150, or (b) one $150 Sunset Air service credit toward a qualifying residential or marine A/C service. The maintenance option excludes repairs, replacement parts, specialty filters, refrigerant, duct cleaning, deep coil cleaning, marine descaling, inaccessible or unsafe equipment, and additional systems. The service credit is not cash, cannot produce a refund or change, and must be applied to one qualifying invoice; the customer is responsible for charges above $150. Both options are subject to normal scheduling, service-area limits, access, and safe working conditions, and may not be transferred or substituted except by the Sponsor when necessary.
8. Winner notification and redemption
The prospective winner will be contacted using the submitted email or phone information, generally within seven days after monthly judging. The winner must respond within seven days and confirm eligibility and a qualifying home address or vessel service location. If the winner cannot be reached, is ineligible, or declines the prize, the Sponsor may select the next highest-scoring eligible entry. The selected prize should be scheduled or used within 90 days of notification.
9. Permission to display the photo
The entrant keeps ownership of the photograph. By entering, the entrant grants Sunset Air Conditioning & Heating a nonexclusive, royalty-free license to review, resize, display, reproduce, and promote the submitted photo in connection with the contest and the business's website and social media, with reasonable photographer credit when practical. The entrant may request removal from future displays, but removal does not undo lawful prior uses.
10. Review, disqualification, and cancellation
Entries are moderated before public display. Sponsor may reject an entry that does not meet these rules, appears fraudulent, infringes rights, creates a security risk, or attempts to manipulate the contest. Sponsor may suspend, modify, or cancel a monthly contest if technical failure, disaster, abuse, or another condition prevents fair operation. Any prize already properly awarded will be honored.
11. Privacy and release
Entry information is handled as described in the Privacy Notice. Email and phone information are not displayed publicly. To the extent permitted by law, entrants release the Sponsor from claims caused by participation or prize use, except claims that cannot legally be waived.
